Homework Assignments

It is my goal to assign Homework Monday to Thursday with the weekend left to the student to enjoy.  However, there may be unforseen cirumstances which require a weekend assignment.  Homework assignments are worth 10 points each and will be returned (graded) within the same week they have been assigned.  Please do NOT rush through the homework as I will not just look over to make sure you've done it but I will grade it.

If students experience problems with homework assignments, it is their responsibility to inform me so that I may assist.  As mercy has been shown to me, I believe in showing it back. As a result, homework assignments may be submitted late with a penalty of 3 points.  After 3 late submissions I will contact parents to discuss the late submissions.

Let's Talk Thinking Maps!!!
Thinking Maps
Thinking Maps offers a new learning technique for students.  Teachers are able to integrate thinking skills through mapping in many if not all lessons.  Outcomes for students include well developed writing skills, better learning as a whole, and increased study skills.Thinking Maps uses basic mental operations such as perceiving, processing and evaluating information presented.  In addition, they describe, classify, and sequence.
The Thinking Maps are listed below:
  1. Circle Map-Define in Context
  2. Bubble Map-Describes
  3. Double Bubble Map-Compare & Contrast
  4. Tree Map-Classifying
  5. Flow Map-Sequencing
  6. Multi-Flow Map-Cause & Effect
  7. Brace Map-Whole -Part Relationship
  8. Bridge Map-Seeing Analogies
